Problems Connecting Nexiq 3 Interface to VMAC Program

When I connect my Nexiq 3 interface, the "Device Tester" shows that the interface is reading the module. However, the VMAC software says it’s not connected. I’ve tried adjusting various settings on the interface, but when I unplug it from the J1708, it stops reading the module, and nothing happens. Please help!
